Kaylor Otwell is an Americana singer-songwriter, actor, and visual artist. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Otwell was born and bred on the country and blues music of the South, and started writing songs and performing as a young child. Growing up in church choirs, she fell in love with multi-voice harmony - something she still incorporates into her music. She began contributing original songs to theatre productions and other community productions in elementary school.
Otwell attended Jefferson County Academy of Fine Arts and went on to earn a degree in Theatre and Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. Post-college she formed her band, The Tin Cans, and began performing her own songs regularly. Her first self-titled album was recorded live at 2nd Row Studio and released in 2010. "Hell or High Water," her sophomore EP, was published in 2016.
Otwell took her musical talents to New York City in 2017 and began preforming under her own name. She has graced the stage of many iconic venues there with her band. She has completed a third, full-length studio album, “Pioneer,” which is set to be released in 2025. The album was recorded at the legendary Blackbird Studios and produced at The Studio Nashville.
